The Ecologies Project
Exploring the profound impact of climate change on human culture across deep time. Amplifying First Nations voices and ongoing calls for sustainability, this exhibition poses a vital question: How does a shifting ecology reshape our cultural identity?
The design direction adopts a typographic approach to mirror the evolving relationship between climate and culture. The juxtaposition of serif and sans serif fonts highlights the contrast between past and present — where the sans serif leads the way, symbolising the emergence of new ideas and conversations.
Artist names are deconstructed to form a typographic texture, visually representing the destruction and decay caused by environmental catastrophes. The carefully chosen colour palette underscores the urgency of the issue, with a vibrant red invoking immediate attention, softened by a calming light purple, and grounded in the earthy stability of deep brown.
